What are the benefits of a virtual care visit?

Through our partnerships with Teladoc and MDLIVE, you can have access to a doctor from your home, office, or on-the-go 24/7/365.  You will have instant access to speak to a state board certified physician either by phone or secure video to help treat any non-emergency medical conditions at any time of day or night. The average wait time is 10 minutes but we find that most doctors contact you before that.  Our doctors can diagnose your symptoms, prescribe medication and send prescriptions to your pharmacy of choice saving you time and most importantly, money!  A doctors note is also available upon request!  Save the time and money of going to a doctor's office and take your doctor with you when you travel.  It's like having your very own, Virtual Doc, Around The Clock!

Are virtual care visits appropriate for every medical condition?

No. Physicians are only responsible for handling non-emergency medical issues. You should not use virtual care if you are experiencing a medical emergency.  In the case of a medical life threatening emergency, you should dial 911 immediately.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST COMMON CONDITIONS YOU CAN TREAT?

Physicians can treat over 50 of the most common non-emergency conditions. Some of the most common conditions they treat, but are not limited to, are  allergies, acne, cold/flu, constipation, cough, diarrhea, ear problems, insect bites, nausea/vomiting, pink eye, rash, respiratory problems, sore throat and more.  Please click below for a list of other  non-emergency conditions we can treat.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST COMMON CONDITIONS YOU CAN TREAT?

Yes, if the doctor believes medication is warranted, he or she can write a prescription for non-narcotic medications (i.e. no controlled substances), which can be sent directly to the pharmacy of your choice.* As soon your consultation is over, your prescription will be sent electronically to one of over 65,000 pharmacies to choose from. If for any reason your pharmacy is unable to receive e-prescriptions, a traditional prescription is generated for our doctors to sign and fax. All prescriptions are fully compliant and include all required information.

If there is a high likelihood it is a bacterial inner infection that needs antibiotics, they should be seen immediately by a doctor in an office based setting.

Can hearing impaired patients use the Virtual Care service?

Yes. Hearing impaired patients can communicate with a doctor using our secure, HIPAA-compliant live chat feature that is available on our website. Patients can communicate with their doctor in an environment that works much like texting. To activate this feature, select “hearing-impaired” and any other categories that apply to you from the accommodations menu, and complete the online registration process. The feature is automatically available each time you login by clicking the icon located at the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
